Overview:

The Development Programming System (DPS) application is a 32-bit Windows-based application used to flash program General Motors electronic control units (ECUs) and verify service programming. DPS is a development tool designed for the GM engineering community and EBU suppliers. It is designed to interact with SAE J2534-compliant hardware interfaces during data exchange.

The communication subsystem in DPS is the same as the Service Programming System (SPS) used in dealer centers. Therefore, validation of DPS functionality guarantees success in the dealer system in terms of communication. DPS is used by all GM groups, as well as other groups supporting GM or EBU products, such as GM suppliers, joint venture groups, educational institutions and more than 10,000 other users.

Interface J2534:

J2534 is an interface standard developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for reprogramming automotive ECUs. Thus, the J2534 has been adopted by all car manufacturers and allows the independent secondary market to program the EBU.

Installation:

Copy files from the license folder to the DPS root folder (c:dps)

Run and install the certificate: certificate.pfx, the certificate password in the key.txt folder

Tested on Windows 11 64bit, works perfectly. If you are using MDI, the MDI Manager must be installed accordingly.
